Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu Hosts CIPS Global CEO and Africa Director on Strategic Visit

    Lagos, Nigeria – Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu today welcomed Ben Farrell MBE, the Global CEO of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), and Sam Achampong, Regional Director for Africa, on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.

    The high-level meeting, held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, focused on fostering strategic partnerships aimed at improving procurement practices, governance, and capacity building in Lagos State and across Nigeria.

    Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the work of CIPS in promoting global best practices in procurement and underscored his administration’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and accountability in public procurement.

    “This visit reinforces our shared vision for sustainable development through ethical procurement,” the Governor stated. “We look forward to deepening our collaboration with CIPS to ensure that Lagos continues to lead in public sector excellence across Africa.”

    Ben Farrell MBE expressed his appreciation for the Governor’s hospitality and emphasized CIPS’ readiness to support procurement reform initiatives in Nigeria. “We are proud to work with Lagos State as a model for professionalism and integrity in procurement,” he said.

    The meeting marks a continued effort by Lagos State to align with international standards and strengthen institutional frameworks that drive economic development and public trust.
