Global Fund for Women, a leading organization dedicated to advancing gender justice globally, has announced the appointment of PeiYao Chen as its new president and CEO. Chen, who is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Global Operations, will officially assume her role on January 1, 2024, succeeding Latanya Mapp Frett.
With a decade-long commitment to the Global Fund for Women, PeiYao Chen has been instrumental in steering the organization towards a groundbreaking movement-led approach. Her visionary leadership is evident in the creation of transformative tools such as the Gender Justice Data Hub, identifying and supporting emerging gender justice movements worldwide.

The appointment of PeiYao Chen as president and CEO received unanimous approval from the Global Fund for Women’s Board of Directors. Amina Doherty and Layli Maparyan, Co-Chairs of the Board, commended Chen’s strategic vision and demonstrated success, stating, “PeiYao is the leader we need at this pivotal and exciting time. We are certain the Global Fund for Women will reach new heights under her leadership.”
